Your Pet's First Visit
A pet's first visit to the vet can seem a bit daunting, so we've put together a list of info and resources to help you prepare.
At your first appointment, we will gather information about your pet’s background, health, diet, and training. We can also address any questions or concerns you might have.
Your veterinarian will examine your pet from nose-to-tail, looking for things like heart murmurs, ear infections, and/or parasites. Your vet can also provide pet-proofing tips, training assistance, and parasite protection recommendations.

Appointment Policies
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your pet's appointment for check-in. If you have not filled out all relevant patient forms yet, plan to arrive 10 minutes ahead of your appointment.
While we do our best to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, there will be times of occasional unexpected delay due to an emergency or because we are providing care for a patient that needs a little more time. Please accept our apologies should this occur, and understand that the same dedication and courtesy will be provided to your pet should they ever need it.
"Sabino Vet is a solid practice. I've had dogs for 40 years, I'm a (retired) trainer and have seen many vets in town. Here is why Sabino Vet stands out from the rest.1. They actually care. I've never felt rushed during an appt. Questions are answered thoughtfully. If vaccines/blood work, etc., are needed, the vet returns with your dog, reports findings and asked if there are any questions. Most clinics bring your pooch out with the bill and"see ya later!"Not here. They truly care.2. Prescriptions, referrals, test results are handled promptly. No waiting weeks for a call back. Written scripts and referrals have always been handled the same day.3. This is important - there is always a vet that can get you in. Nowadays, it seems clinics are short staffed and refer clients to emergency clinics (been there/done that). Sabino vet has always worked me in within 24-48 hours.4. They have a portal for questions. They actually respond to the portal. For those nagging 3AM questions - get on the portal.5. The clinic is spotless. The waiting room is large and they require short leashes and separation of dogs. I have never waited over 5 minutes for a room.6. The front desk and vet techs are incredible. They are competent, friendly and even funny. The techs and the vet handle the dog using positive training approved methods (remember, I'm a trainer and I watch for this.)7. Diagnoses, recommendations and follow ups are science based and solid. Questions are welcomed. You won't pay for fancy, useless supplements or"gee, let's try this..."These doctors know what they're doing.I recommend this practice enthusiastically and without reservations. If you've read this far, give yourself a scratch behind your ears and perhaps a cookie."
