Veterinary Assistant

Alex is an East Coast transplant who first moved to Tucson to pursue a B.A. in Psychology at the U of A (Bear Down!). After graduation she returned home and worked in social services for several years. To supplement her income, she would pet sit for friends and family, something she has been doing on and off since she was 12. Experienced with cats, dogs and horses, the pet sitting requests kept coming in and it turned into a full time job. As much as she loves the east coast, it is expensive and cold, and in 2018 she decided to move back to Tucson where she adopted two dogs: Moose, a four year old English Mastiff mix, and Gila Monster, a two month old Great Dane / Cane Corso Mix. Before adopting, she asked around for vet recommendations and that’s how she found Sabino Veterinary Care. Through her frequent visits, Moose and Gila thoughtfully made sure that Alex got to know ALL the members of the Sabino Team whose dedication, compassion, and knowledgeable care inspired her to go back to school to become a veterinary technician.

When she is not at work, in school, or studying, you can find Alex listening to stand-up comedy, watching foreign crime dramas, baking desserts, or hiking with Moose and Gila.
