Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Debra Pisani Kellams grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania and moved to Tucson in 1974 to continue pursuing a degree at the University of Arizona in Medical Technology. After finishing her degree she worked at the University Health Science Center in their the new Virology department. But she wanted to do something more in the medical field and moved to Tucson Medical Center evening shift working in all areas of laboratory medicine-including 2 years in Microbiology. While working at TMC she finished her requirements at the University of Arizona and applied to Colorado State University and was accepted into Veterinary Medicine. Graduating in 1985, she started working at Valley Animal Hospital where she worked for 30 years. Her interests are in small animal and exotic medicine and surgery with additional training in avian medicine and abdominal ultrasound.
Dr. Kellams retired in April, 2015 but decided to return to practice part-time at Sabino Veterinary Care in December,2015 because it is such a great place with great doctors and great employees!
Dr. Kellams enjoys biking, swimming and traveling. She and her husband, Grant, have a son, Derek, who is finishing college at the University of Portland. Also they reside with the cutest stray toy poodle named Jake.
