Who We Are

Dr. Jim Sofft

  Dr. Susan Sofft

Dr. Jim Stofft is a native of Tucson and went to the University of Arizona before attending Colorado State University School of Medicine. After graduating in 1996, Dr. Stofft completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a private specialty/referral center. He has spent his entire career in Tucson, working in emergency medicine, as well as general practice.

Dr. Stofft was the consulting veterinarian for the Reid Park Zoo for many years and enjoys working with a variety of exotic species. He joined his wife, Dr. Susan Stofft, as part of the small animal practice at Adobe Veterinary Center in 2009.

Along with their two daughters, Anna and Erin, the Stoffts enjoy hiking, camping, and other outdoor sports. They share their home with two cats, two dogs, and a large, gregarious tortoise named Larry-Todd. As a die-hard U. of A. supporter, Dr. Jim awaits our first Rose Bowl or another Final Four and wouldn't complain if they both happened next year.

Dr. Susan Birrell Stofft, originally from Denver, completed her undergraduate studies at Colorado State University with a degree in microbiology and a minor in molecular genetics.  She stayed on at C.S.U., and graduated with honors from the veterinary school in 1996.

After completing an internship at Texas A&M University in small animal medicine and surgery, Dr. Jim Stofft, her classmate and now husband, encouraged her to move out to beautiful Tucson, Arizona.  She spent the past 15 years working in and around the Tucson area.

They have two beautiful girls who take up all their free time camping, hiking, cycling and traveling.  Susan is the leader of her daughter's Girl Scout troop.
